From bugs to drugs

Bacterial resistance to antibiotics represents a major challenge for public health throughout the world. New molecules stemming from insects could live up to the high expectations of the medical community, which is currently helpless against this growing problem. It is hoped that biochemical examinations of the insect's anatomy and physiology will lead to new antibiotic drug compound.
